Carlie completes her lecturer-in-training

It is to address the need for the scarce skills need in the country such as in Technology, Mathematics, Engineering Sciences and Physical Science.

Ms Carlie Cronje (25) will attend her graduation ceremony in April after the accomplishment of being the first trainee to complete the Gert Sibande TVET College’s lecturers-in-training programme.

The programme began in 2012 to help in the recruitment of TVET College lecturers who can be trained according to a tailor-made TVET programme.

It is to address the need for the scarce skills need in the country such as in Technology, Mathematics, Engineering Sciences and Physical Science.

The programme has two components, the theoretical, offered by Unisa, and the practical experience gained during lecturing sessions under the guidance of experienced mentors at the various Gert Sibande campuses.
