The South African National Civic Organisation, SANCO, took to the streets, outside the Lekwa Municipal building on 4 April, demanding that Cllr Muzi Chirwa, be removed as Gert Sibande District Mayor on 4 March.
“We cannot have a little dictator as our leader,” Mr Bongani Mwami, Sanco Gert Sibande Regional Secretary, said.
They accuse Mr Chirwa of dismissing leaders without following proper protocol.

Sanco mobilised its member and the community to submit a memorandum of grievances and demands.
