BETHAL – Members of the Bethal Community Policing Forum (CPF) held a meeting on Friday, 6 April to discuss new crime tendencies.

The chairman, Mr Jaap Pretorius, presented the crime statistics for March.

There were 16 cases of burglary at residential premises, one murder, two robberies, three burglaries at business premises, two cases for theft of vehicles, three cases for theft out of vehicles and two cases of burglaries at farms.

Mr Pretorius urged people to be extra vigilant as house burglaries have increased.

He said the community is the eyes and ears of the police. They can identify suspicious people and vehicles and they must know their area and test their alarm systems regularly.
