Burglars kill family dog to break into Secunda house while owners are asleep

It appears Lilo, a German shepherd, was beaten to death and Hercules, a border collie, is extremely traumatised.

SECUNDA – Criminals killed a German shepherd in Lanzerac Street in the morning hours of 23 April before breaking into her owners’ home to steal their television and other electronic devices.

Mr Joshua and Ms Sarina Herselman said they slept through the entire ordeal and only realised what had happened when Ms Herselman was preparing to take the kids to school.

Ms Herselman found Lilo’s carcass on the lawn near the entrance to the main door. Their other dog, Hercules, appeared to be uninjured, but was extremely traumatised.

No one has been arrested yet.
