Mr Alexander Mohoebi appeared in the High Court in Delmas on 9 April and the case was postponed to 25 June due to an outstanding preliminary sentence report by the Department of Social Development.
The report has to be obtained from Lesotho after a background investigation has been conducted.
The charges were murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of an unlicensed firearm and illegal possession of ammunition after the Standerton traffic officer, Mr Bongani Nkumba, was killed while on duty.
