UPDATE at 7.25pm:
Mr Shayne van der Heever from Langamed South Ambulance Services confirmed that a 13-year-old boy who was transported to hospital succumbed to his injuries. He died at about 5pm.
The driver of the Corsa involved in this afternoon’s accident is a 23-year-old woman who sustained minor injuries.
Mr André Momberg from ER24 ambulances said they transported patients to Evander Hospital.
Two of his ambulances are currently on their way to Sunshine Private Hospital in Benoni with four of the patients who suffered severe fractures such as a broken pelvis and legs.
Their ages are 11, 12, 16 and a man of 44. They were all in the Corsa.
The accident happened on the R546 between Evander and eMbalenhle.
