Six Standerton police officers suspended pending investigation

“I can confirm that the men have been suspended pending an internal investigation,” provincial police spokesman, Brig Leonard Hlathi, said.

Six Standerton Police officers previously accused of business robbery were suspended from duty on 4 May.

“I can confirm that the men have been suspended, pending an internal investigation,” provincial police spokesman, Brig Leonard Hlathi, said.

The men were arrested after a joint investigation by the Standerton Police and the Hawks on 10 April.

Constables Thabiso P Lepoto (35), Jabu G Sekhoto (37), Siphiwe E Ntshangase (45), Fika T Makhubu (33), Solomon Richard (36) and Hlalanathi Ngcemu (37) appeared in the the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 11 and 12 April respectively.

They were remanded on bail of R1 000 each, pending further investigation, and will appear in court again on 12 June.
