Bethal CPF warns against criminal activities

Win a hamper to the value of R729 in Bethal.

BETHAL – The Community Policing Forum (CPF) warned people against a group that is collecting a monthly donation and saying they are part of a neighbourhood watch group or a group that works with the CPF.

“This is false. The CPF is not receiving any monthly donations and we do not ask for such donations,” said Mr Jaap Pretorius, chairman of Bethal CPF.

“If you are paying for this, you are being deceived.”

He urged residents to report these people to the admin group of Bethal CPF.

Two cases of burglaries in the residential area of Bethal have been reported between 28 May and 3 June.

One incident occurred in Soetdoring Street and another one in Kleynhans Street at an empty house.

A business on Rietfontein Farm and at Jim van Tonder School were also targeted by burglars.

Mr Pretorius urged the community not to give any details of internet banking to anyone calling and pretending to be from a bank.

“Even if they have your details, do not give them any personal information,” said Mr Pretorius.

Bethal CPF will be hosting a blood drive on Saturday, 9 June at the blood service donor centre in Bethal.

A hamper to the value of R729 is up for grabs.

Every person who donates blood on this day from 8am to 1pm, will receive a ticket to the lucky draw and for every friend a person takes to the blood service, they will receive an additional ticket.

The draw will take place at 1.30pm.
