Events for kids this winter holiday

Events happening this winter school holiday in Secunda and surrounding areas.

 

Secunda Mall – Space Park

22 June to 14 July:

Kids can explore space this school holiday at Secunda Mall’s Space Park.

This park, erected in the food court, has a 6m high, 15 m long LED Black Hole slide with a UV spider rope zone underneath.

There is also a Space Ball Pit and a 10-seater rocket.

Kids can enjoy themselves in the Space Park while their parents go off to shop.

The Space Park will be open from 10 am to 6 pm from Monday to Saturday, and on Sunday it will close at 3 pm.

Tickets cost R50 for a 25-minute session. The ticket booth is opposite SterKinekor.

Secunda Mall – Comet Tales

23 and 30 June, and 7 and 14 July:

Do not miss out on Comet Tales,  adventurous kids show of when two worlds collide.

It will be an explosion of song and dance when the best friends Charlie Comet and Candy Comet land on earth from outer space.

They literally bump into two humans. Together the new friends share stories from their different worlds.

Every now and then they are joined by Astronaut Cat on a mission to save the two wondering comets and bring them back to space.

The show is 25 minutes long and suitable for kids between the ages four to eight years, but Moms and Dads will also enjoy the event with their kids.

It will be hosted in the vacant shop at Entrance 4. You can also have your photo taken with the Comet friends after the show.

Tickets costR50 each and are available at the ticket booth opposite SterKinekor or at the door.

Show times are 10.30 and 1 pm, but doors will open 30 minutes before the show begins.

Kinross Youth Week

25 June to 1 July:

The NG Church in Kinross presents the Kinross Jeugweek (Youth Week) every winter holiday for children from Grade 1 to 12.

There are usually daily activities such as fun and games, arts and crafts, a concert and much more.

The programme is from 8.30am to 2 pm from Monday to Friday.

The Saturday is the Kids Fun event that begins at 9am until 2pm.

The Youth Week closes on Sunday 1 July with a youth church sermon at 9am and a visit from the Goeie Nuus Fabriek.

Cost is R250 per child for the entire week.

There will be a bus available to transport the kids to the youth week.

Collection points are Hoërskool Secunda’s main entrance at 7.45am and at the Shoprite parking area at Evander at 8am.

Secunda Duck Pond

24 June:

The annual Winter Market at the Secunda Duck Pond is being held in conjunction with the Secunda Steamers on Sunday from 10am to 3pm

You can visit the various market stalls, ride on the steam trains around the dam or take your four-legged friend for Rails and Tails hosted by Little Paws Big Hearts.

This time LPBH will treat you to a colour fun run.

For this event, you should dress up in white.

Peraldi horse riding school will also be at the duck pond.
