[7.30am] The R29 between Kinross and Leandra is still closed due to protest action.

Mr Alf Byleveldt of Jelani Security said this morning just after 6am a truck tried to make a U-turn to avoid the protesters.

They stopped the vehicle and pulled the driver from the cabin.

Just as the protesters tried to set the truck alight, a police vehicle arrived and the mob scattered.

According to Mr Byleveldt two approaching vehicles then also collided about 100m from the truck.

The road is closed completely.

Motorists should avoid this road.

Soon after the vehicles in the accident were removed, the protesters came back again.

StratconRisk have been called for help.

Mr Alf Byleveldt, his colleague Stanley and a policeman, are at this moment surrounded and trapped in by protesters at Kinross.
