EVANDER – Three dogs that broke free from their owner’s yard, mauled a pedestrian on Nottingham Road on Wednesday, 20 June.
According to Sgt Sibusiso Mbuli, spokesman for Evander Police, the woman was walking home from town when the dogs attacked and ripped her legs open.
When she fell down, the animals tore into the rest of her body.
Neighbours came running when they heard the woman’s screams.
She was taken per ambulance to Evander Hospital.
Sgt Mbuli said a docket has been opened for negligently allowing or the failure to prevent an animal to cause injury to person.
No one has been arrested yet.
According to other unconfirmed reports, these dogs bit and killed a Rottweiler puppy prior to the attack on the woman on the same day.
