Anti-Unemployment Forum not happy with Kinross councillors

Kinross Anti - Unemployment Forum handed over their memorandum to Tiger Business Enterprise

KINROSS – Kinross Anti-Unemployment Forum members took to the street to voice their frustration with Tiger Business Enterprise and ward councillors on Wednesday, 13 June.

They accused the company and Ms Rose Nkabinde and Mr Ben Makola of corrupt activities.

Mr Daniel Koza, secretary of the forum, said they were representing more than 500 unemployed youths in the area.

He said the company failed to comply with resolutions that were taken at a meeting in January where the two councillors were also present.

He said it was agreed that the forum would nominate one person who will represent them on the steering committee and that the advertisement for sub-contractors was not put on the notice board.

“We had agreed that they would only employ people from Ward 16 and 17, which they failed to do.

“We demand that Mr Lennox Matshaya, manager, is fired with immediate effect, because he was failing to comply with the agreement that we made.

“We want to know how Ms Nkabinde and Mr Makola are involved in the project.

“The community must elect a new steering committee and a community liaison officer.

“Locals should be prioritised for employment and a consultation board must be placed at the site office.

“We demand that the enterprise sponsors our forum.”

The forum gave the company seven days to respond to the memorandum.

The company promised to do so.
