Evander – Police arrested five suspects after a tip-off on Sunday afternoon at the Mpumalanga Guest House.
Four of the suspects work as security guards at various stores at the Mall@eMba.
The items are suspected to have been stolen from various shops during the violent protest that resulted in the torching of the mall last week.
These included clothes, watches, cell phones and bottles of whiskey with an estimated value of R120 000.
The five suspects are expected to appear in Evander Magistrate’s court soon.
