Featus found next to Risko Fakude Stadium

Women encouraged to follow right route on concealment of birth

eMBALENHLE – Police are concerned over the increase in concealment of births in the area.

In a recent incident, a fetus was found next to the Risko Fakude Stadium.

It was spotted by residents who were on their way to a community meeting.

Const Busi Mthethwa, the police spokesman, said people must follow the right procedure when they need to terminate a pregnancy.

“People need to be aware of the consequences of committing such inhumane acts as the dumping of fetuses.

“A child is innocent and if a parent cannot afford to look after the child, they should follow the correct protocol.

“If you do not want a child, there are legal routes that you can follow besides illegal abortions and abandoning children in the sewers.

“We condemn such practices in our community.”

She said those who need help should visit the police station for assistance.
