eMBALENHLE – Police and Gert Sibande health inspectors met with foreign national shop owners to discuss various challenges that they face.
This came after the community threatened the foreign nationals for allegedly selling expired goods.
They spoke about the selling of fake goods and expired goods and the importance of hygiene.
Capt Busi Mthethwa, police spokesman, said the meeting was a success and that the shop owners cooperated.
“We decided that awareness campaigns must be held to educate the community about fake goods and the importance of checking the expiry dates on goods.
“We are calling on our community to inform the police if they find something wrong with products bought at these shops.”
