Woman arrested in connection with dumping baby at Ext 7 dumpsite

The baby was partially covered in a black plastic bag, and still covered in blood.

Standerton Police arrested Ms Nombulelo Nzamo (23) on 6 September in connection with the dumping of the body of her baby at a dumping site in Ext 7.

According to police, a group of school children noticed the baby, as well as a taxi driver, who immediately contacted the police.

The baby was partially covered in a black plastic bag, and still covered in blood.

It is still unclear whether the infant was still-born or died at the site.

A community member approached police on the scene, while they were waiting for the Local Criminal Record Centre, and informed them about a woman in the area who had been pregnant.
