Nine-year-old boy survives being hit by a taxi

The boy sustained head and body injuries.

According to Portia LadyLuck Radebe who claims to be a friend of mother of the nine year old, they are refuting claims that the boy went of his own accord to buy the vetkoek.

Rather they allege that the boy was sent by the driver to the shop.

The Standerton Advertiser is therefore affording the mother, the chance to tell their side of the story.

A  school boy (9) was admitted to the Standerton Hospital after being hit by a taxi in Palm Street, Sakhile on 13 September.

According to the Sakhile Police, the boy was in scholar transport when he complained of hunger, and asked the driver to stop so he could buy amagwinya (vetkoek).

When the driver obliged, the boy went out running, not minding the other traffic, and was hit by the oncoming taxi.

The boy sustained head and body injuries.
