Standerton Police apprehended one suspect in Charl Cilliers in connection with an armed robbery at the Cell C Shop at the Monument Centre, Standerton on 18 September.
The quick response of the police, Kasselman Security Services and Stratcon Risk played a pivotal role in the arrest.
They also suspect that three men were involved in the robbery, with one serving as a lookout.
According to police, two men entered the shop and pretended to be sales representatives from Secunda.
They then pointed firearms at two staff members before hauling them off to the storeroom.
The robbers apparently fled in a silver Toyota Hilux towards Charl Cilliers.
A shoot out ensued between police and the suspects.
