SECUNDA – The four people who were arrested in July for allegedly kidnapping an eight-month pregnant woman and performing an abortion on her, appeared in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 11 September.
Ms Lydia Mojemba (34) and Messrs Seyikabi Wilson (46), Jingo Wassua (35) and Njombozi Katiti (43) briefly appeared before Magistrate Faith Kekana.
The young mother-to-be was allegedly snatched from her home in Sunset Park in Secunda and taken to Ogies on 13 July where she was locked in a room and numerous abortion tablets were forced down her throat and were also vaginally inserted.
One of the accused is the victim’s aunt.
The woman claimed her aunt is a traditional healer who also works as an abortionist and was allegedly furious when the niece, who was supposed to recruit clients for her aunt in Secunda, met her boyfriend and fell pregnant.
The case was postponed to 29 October.
