CHARL CILLIERS – Kasselman Security Services (KSS) from Standerton received help from StratconRisk and Jelani Security to apprehend a suspect in Charl Cilliers in connection with a robbery at the Cell C store at the Monument Centre in Standerton on 18 September.
The robbery took place between 9am and 10am and the quick response of the police, KSS, StratconRisk and Jelani played a pivotal role in the arrest.
According to the Standerton Police, one man entered the shop and pretended to be a sales representative, while another man stood at the door and served as a lookout.
The robbers pointed firearms at two staff members before hauling them off to the storeroom.

They took the shop manager’s cell phone before fleeing in a silver Toyota Hilux towards Charl Cilliers.
The suspects then did away with the getaway vehicle and hitched a ride from the driver of a Fortuner.
According to Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, the driver demanded that they get out of the vehicle after he had become suspicious.
KSS followed the bakkie, enlisted the help of Stratcon Risk and Jelani and met up with the suspects.
A shoot-out ensued, but no injuries were reported.
Two different sets of registration plates were found on the scene, along with a gun.
The Secunda K9 Unit scouted the surrounding area in search of dumped weapons.
Police have opened a case of business robbery and are still looking for the other suspect.
They requested anyone with information to contact them at 017 712 1250.
