A suspect evaded Kasselman Security Services (KSS) and the Standerton Police after allegedly stealing a tractor battery at near the silos on the Robertsdrift Road on 24 September.
KSS responded to a call about someone who was walking around in the yard at around noon.
Upon surveying the area, KSS noticed the suspect and fired a warning shot, which led to him running to the river bank towards Ext 6.
The suspect dropped the battery during his getaway, enabling KSS to retrieve and safely return it to the owners.
Later that day, the suspect allegedly robbed a convenience store and also managed a getaway.
