The beauty pageant, hosted by Ms Princess Msibi, was a first of its kind with Ms Msibi aiming to promote self-confidence and boost the self-esteem of young girls in Carolina.
Ms Penelope Mhlanga was crowned Miss It Girl Carolina on Saturday, 29 September at the Silobela Community Hall in Carolina.
Ms Thulufelo Nzima walked away as first princess and Ms Zinhle Maseko was crowned the second princess.
The beauty pageant, hosted by Ms Princess Msibi, was a first of its kind with Ms Msibi aiming to promote self-confidence and boost the self-esteem of young girls in Carolina.
“I want these girls to practice self-love, self-respect and independence so they grow up knowing they are not defined by the validation of men or any other person for that matter but themselves,” Ms Msibi said.
The three winners will be ambassadors of this message and on Thursday, 1 November they will launch a sanitary towels campaign where they will collect and donate sanitary towels to female learners at schools in and around Carolina.
“This will positively impact the learners as they do not have to worry about missing days of school and concentrate on school in order to achieve their goals,” Ms Msibi concluded.
