Woman hijacked in Nigel is found near Brendan Village

The attackers threw her in the car's boot after they stabbed her and left with the money.

EVANDER – A woman who was hijacked in Nigel this afternoon, 29 November, was found hours later flagging down a motorist near Brendan Village.

She had been beaten and stabbed.

Sgt Sibusiso Mbuli, spokesman for Evander Police, confirmed that two men overpowered the woman in the driveway of a house in Nigel, around noon.

One was armed with a handgun and the other with a knife.

The victim was carrying a Herballife bag containing R150 000.

The robbers forced her into her silver Volvo and demanded that she drive to Mpumalanga.

She was beaten and stabbed in the upper left leg.

The car ran out of petrol near Brendan Village.

The attackers threw her in the car’s boot and left with the money.

The victim managed to open the boot from inside and then flagged down a passing motorist for help.

Sgt Mbuli said it seems both robbers wore gloves.

One was wearing a balaclava and the other had on a cap.

Evander Police and the K9 Unit were on the scene at Brendan Village.

Evander EMS attended to the victim.

Her vehicle was towed to Evander Police Station.
