Ms Marietjie Fourie, DA Councillor, warned residents last night to prepare for not having any water in their taps as the water problem is spreading wider this time.
Some residents now have no water at all.
Ms Fourie contacted the Head of Water and Sanitation, the regional manager, the municipal manager and the Executive Mayor, Ms Thandi Ngoxonono.
Ms Ngoxonono said she will get someone to contact Ms Fourie.
A total of 87 people showed up at a public meeting Ms Fourie organised earlier in January to discuss the water problems in Bethal that began in December.
It was said at this meeting that Rand Water only pumps 80 per cent of water into the Govan Mbeki municipal region, thus they are throttling the water with 20 per cent.
This comes after Govan Mbeki failed to pay Rand Water.
Different solutions were discussed at the meeting, but in the mean time, residents will have to go without water for now.
Ms Fourie just informed residents that she has not received any feedback from the municipality yet and according to unconfirmed information, there is no inflow from Rand Water to the reservoir and it seems as if Rand Water is not pumping to the Govan Mbeki municipal area at all.
Ms Fourie said she contacted two employees of Rand Water as well, but to no avail.
