#BethalWater Update: Some residents in Bethal has water but at low pressure

According to the map Ms Fourie released, areas with no water are indicated in red, areas with low water pressure are indicated in yellow and areas with full water pressure are indicated in blue.

The water pressure in some areas of Bethal are still low despite residents having water again as the reservoir in Extension 5 is empty with no inflow from Rand Water.

Ms Marietjie Fourie, DA Councillor, said a plumber from Govan Mbeki Municipality is on site to investigate and it is too early to determine the cause, but she is of the opinion that it is a technical problem as all the other points are receiving water from Rand Water.

According to the map Ms Fourie released, areas with no water are indicated in red, areas with low water pressure are indicated in yellow and areas with full water pressure are indicated in blue.

“At least there are fewer areas without water and more areas with low water pressure,” said Ms Fourie.

“The pressure in your pipes depends on how much water the community is using.

“Early this morning the water was at full pressure but later fell to low pressure or no water at all in certain areas.

“This is because residents started using water again this morning.

“The key here is to use water sparingly until all residents have water,” urged Ms Fourie.
