New crown on the cards for Secunda beauty queen

Sinenhlanhla is following in the footsteps of her mom and mentor, who trains her and has molded her into the young woman she is today.

SECUNDA – Sinenhlanhla Skhosana (16) is a timid and outspoken young woman with big dreams.

She recently won ‘Miss Teen eKasi’, which took place in Secunda.

Sinenhlanhla won the title out of 27 hopeful young girls from all over the Gert Sibande District.

Now she has new aspirations to overcome, in the form of two beauty pageants.

The first pageant is ‘Miss Prime South Africa’, which takes place on 2 March and the second is ‘Miss Inspire’ to take place on 7 July.

The ‘Miss Prime’ pageant focuses on bringing all provinces together to show off their skills and talents.

Sinenhlanhla is the second child to Mr Jabu and Mrs Jabu Skhosana.

Her number one fan is her younger sister, Owami (7), who is known for her loud cheers when she sees her sister on stage.

Sinenhlanhla is a grade 11 learner at Hoërskool Oosterland, whose interests lie in the economic path she hopes to take one day.

“When I look at the current economic situation of our country, I just hope to one day positively contribute.

“I dream of becoming an entrepreneur, because that is how we will grow as a country.”

Sinenhlanhla heard about the ‘Miss Teen eKasi’ pageant in 2016, but only entered in 2017, where she was place in the top five.

After becoming the winner of the ‘Miss Teen eKasi’ pageant, Sinenhlanhla qualified to take on the ‘Miss Inspire’ pageant as a semi finalist in the teen category.

The ‘Miss Inspire’ pageant is all about inspiring, being driven, confident and well spoken as well as an ambitious young woman.

Sinenhlanhla ticks all the boxes and is sure to make an impression on the judges.

Her mum, is her backbone and support system.

“My make-up is finished because of Sinenhlanhla. She loves getting dressed up and trying new ways to apply make-up,” said Ms Skhosane.

“The pageantry is expensive to take part in. The dresses, the make-up, shoes and all the extra’s add up. But to see my child’s dreams come true, makes me very happy,” added Ms Skhosana.

Sinenhlanhla is following in the footsteps of her mom and mentor, who trains her and has molded her into the young woman she is today.

She is an athletic all rounder who enjoys track, both long distance and sprints, including hurdles.

She tries her best to maintain good health and good skin.

“I love eating junk food, but try my best to keep a healthy and balanced diet. I stay focused on looking my best. I work out as much as I can and keep a serious facial routine by cleansing and moisturising daily,” said Sinenhlanhla.

Sinenhlanhla is looking forward to the pageants and is preparing herself both physically and mentally.

This young girl’s dream to one day become Miss South Africa and conquer the world with her beauty and skin care products is worth keeping alive.
