Robbers target TotalSports in Secunda to steal cell phones

The total value of the stolen items is still unknown.

SECUNDA – Robbers took more than a hundred cell phones from the TotalSports store in the Secunda central business district on Friday, 15 March.

The robbery happened at about 10am when two men, posing as customers, entered the store.

They approached the two shop assistants, took out their guns and pointed it at the employees.

The gunmen forced the two workers into the storeroom and tied them up.

A third robber then also entered the store and joined the gang.

Detectives investigate the robbery.

They locked the remaining two shop attendants in the toilet and fled with 115 cell phones and a laptop.

The personnel’s phones were also stolen.

The total value of the stolen items is still unknown.

Curamus Victim Support group helped the staff work through the trauma of being robbed while the police investigated the scene. No arrests have yet been made.
