Eskom issues warning about false and misleading information

They indicated that loadshedding is controlled and managed on a rotational basis for a period of between two or four hours at a time, depending on the schedule that the customer is on, on a particular day.

The Eskom media desk issued a notice to correct fictitious and misleading information circulating via social and digital media about electricity interruptions in South Africa.

They indicated that loadshedding is controlled and managed on a rotational basis for a period of between two or four hours at a time, depending on the schedule that the customer is on, on a particular day.

According to them, loadshedding is implemented as a measure of last resort to protect the national electricity system.

Customers were advised to keep checking their loadshedding schedules on the Eskom (https://loadshedding.eskom.co.za) or their local municipal websites.

Eskom customers can also contact their customer contact centre at 0860 037 566.
