BETHAL – A man from eSwatini was arrested in possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Const Treasure Mbonani and Srgt Themba Sihlali were conducting stop-and-search in the vicinity of Bethal when they stopped and requested to conduct a search on the man.
A black revolver was found on the suspect and he failed to produce legal documentation for the firearm.
Police arrested the suspect for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. The firearm and 12 live rounds of ammunition were confiscated.
The suspect was detained at the Bethal Police Station and will soon appear in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court.
The station commander, Lt Colonel Petrus Nzima, commended the members for their hard work and dedication in arresting the suspect.
