Woman dies on N17 near Trichardt
According to Mr Alf Byleveldt from Jelani Security, the road will be closed for a while and motorists should rather make use of alternative routes.
TRICHARDT – A woman was declared dead on the scene after her car crashed head-on with an oncoming truck on the N17 highway near Trichardt this morning, 9 May.
The accident happened at about 8.30am near the Vlaklaagte turn-off between Trichardt and the water reservoirs towards Kinross.
The truck was travelling in the far left lane towards Trichardt when the driver of a VW Polo who was travelling in the opposite direction, apparently steered her car across the highway and crashed directly into the truck.
A police investigation is underway.
ER24 was the first responder and declared the woman dead.
Trichardt Police, Jelani Security, the municipal fire brigade and provincial traffic worked to make the scene safe and to block off the road.
