Women empower girls in eMzinoni

The topics that were focused on included confidence, facing life's challenges, self defense as well as earning and saving money.

eMZINONI – Ms Gugu Mahlangu, one of the Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa semi-finalists in Mpumalanga, joined hands with Women4Women recently.

The initiative was to uplift and empower high school girls from iKhetheli Secondary School and AD Nkosi Secondary School by handing out sanitary towels, which was sponsored by Happy Me.

The Women4Women NPO is an organisation that focuses on empowering females from previously disadvantaged backgrounds by funding bursaries for students who are unable to afford tertiary education.

They provide free sanitary towels, contraception and sexual health education for young women in lower income and previously disadvantaged areas.

The topics that were focused on included confidence, facing life’s challenges, self defense as well as earning and saving money.

Ms Mahlangu said, “Thank you Women4Women SA for this vehicle of hope. The only crime we are not prepared to commit, is to stop here. Thank you ladies, the sisterhood continues.”

The girls at AD Nkosi High School received goodies from Women4Women.
Ms Gugu Mahlangu and her team educated and encouraged the group of girls.
