Two suspects encountered the long arm of the law after robbing a person of his bank cards at an FNB ATM at the Junxion-centre on 5 July at 1pm.
A silver VW Polo with no number plate at the back, was spotted at Capitec Bank after it drove off in the direction of Volksrust.
Standerton Police, traffic officers and Kasselman Security Services (KSS) stopped the vehicle and apprehended the suspects.
The Standerton Advertiser called the security officer of KSS, who was involved in the arrest on Monday, 8 July and left a message, and made enquiries at the prosecution office of the Standerton Magistrate’s Court whether a robbery case was on the roll, which was answered in the negative.
The communication officer of the Standerton Police, Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, was off duty and the newspaper could not confirm whether a case was opened.
