Sasol gives more homes to employees

“We believe homes are more than just houses, homes provide the foundation for family, the foundation for stable community and the foundation for wealth creation”

SECUNDA – Sasol Mining celebrated the final phase of its Secunda housing project with the handover of 18 homes to its employees on Tuesday, 16 July.

This brings the total number of houses to 218 that Sasol Mining has handed over to employees as part of the Social and Labour Plan.

The houses are in eMbalenhle and Secunda.

Mr Pierre Jordaan, Vice President: Mining Services at Sasol Mining, said handing over houses to colleagues is also part of the company’s broader transformation journey.

“The provision of housing to Sasol Mining employees is a continuous process and an initiative in accordance with the Social and Labour Plan.

“As a caring employer, we seek to increase home-ownership across our ranks and build our nation.

“We believe homes are more than just houses, homes provide the foundation for family, the foundation for stable community and the foundation for wealth creation.”

The houses are an adequate size with essential basic infrastructure such as water, sanitation and electricity.

Mr Jordaan added: “We will continue to invest in the local development of our infrastructure enabling us as a proud South African company to leave a lasting legacy.

“Our employees must be proud and be able to point out the positive impact that we are making in the communities where we conduct our business.”
