School in Leandra award top teachers

Teachers who received awards for a 100 per cent pass rate were Ms Jean Shongwe and Ms Fortunate Ndlela for English, Ms Sybil Sekhoela for tourism and Ms Phindile Simelane for consumer studies.

LEANDRA – Teachers of the Vukuqhakaze Secondary School in Leandra were awarded for the good pass rates their learners received last year.

The award ceremony was recently held at the Bosveld Lapa Restaurant in Secunda.

Teachers who received awards for a 100 per cent pass rate were Ms Jean Shongwe and Ms Fortunate Ndlela for English, Ms Sybil Sekhoela for tourism and Ms Phindile Simelane for consumer studies.

The other teachers whose learners excelled and obtained good pass marks are Ms Velephe Nhlengethwa and Ms Sabeliwe Zakwe for a 99 per cent pass rate in isiZulu, Ms Sbongile Kekana and Ms Maria Masuku for a 98 per cent pass rate in life orientation, Mr Abram Nhlapho for a 85 per cent pass rate in economics, Mr Dumisani Vilakazi for a 79 per cent pass rate in life sciences, Mr Ntsieni Mulaudzi for a 71 per cent pass rate in geography, Ms Fortune Ndlela for a 67 per cent pass rate in history, Ms Sivuyile Matseme for a 65 pass rate in accounting, Ms Carol Sidu for a 61 per cent pass rate in business studies and Ms Mandy Mabanga for a 60 per cent pass rate in maths literacy.

These teachers of the Vukuqhakaze Secondary School in Leandra received awards for their learners’ good pass rates in 2018.
