No loadshedding, but power is off in Secunda

SECUNDA – Although Eskom announced no loadshedding is scheduled for today, 20 October, most of Secunda is

without electricity.

The problem began early this morning with a stolen cable feeding ringsub 7 and a faulty cable at ringsub 2.

The electricity was barely on when a cable on the sidewalk in Trichardt Road opposite Highveld Park High School exploded at about 11am.

According to Ms Mariaan Chamberlain from the DA, a panel is also malfunctioning at the main substation.

There is not yet any timeframe given as how long the electricity might be off.
