Two arrested after dagga worth R60 000 seized on R23 between Morgenzon and Standerton

The police officers were conducting patrols along the R23 road between Morgenzon and Standerton when they spotted a silver-grey Nissan X-Trail carrying two occupants and travelling towards Standerton.

Two suspects were arrested for possession of dagga by members of the Secunda Flying Squad on October 2 at approximately 8:30am.

The vehicle was stopped and searched, resulting in the discovery of five black plastic bags containing dagga with an estimated street value of approximately R60 000.

The two suspects, aged 37 and 44, were subsequently arrested and charged with dealing in dagga.

They are expected to appear before the Standerton Magistrate’s Court soon.

The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Apaphia Modise, commended the Secunda Flying Squad members for their vigilance and swift action, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.
