Standerton K9-unit and Val-detectives arrests suspect

A formal bail application will be heard on 14 October and his next court appearance was scheduled for 22 October.

A tactical-driven operation of the Standerton K9-unit and Val-detectives proved successful in Phalama Section, Sakhile recently when Mr Mpikiseni Kusakusa Shelembe was apprehended in connection with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

A shotgun with serial number 131574, 18 shotgun rounds and 22 rubber bullets with an estimated value of R30 000 were confiscated.

Sakhile Police opened a case of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Mr Shelembe appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 8 October and was remanded in custody.

A formal bail application will be heard on 14 October and his next court appearance was scheduled for 22 October.
