Famsa invites people to trauma release exercise workshop in Secunda
Social worker believes many people in Secunda suffer from post traumatic stress

SECUNDA – Famsa will be hosting a trauma release exercise workshop on Saturday, 16 November at the Rondekerk.
Dr Erika Coertzen will be presenting the course and costs are R250 per person.
According to Ms Rina Louw, social worker at Famsa, the trauma release exercise is an innovative series of exercises that can help the body to release deep muscular patterns of tension and trauma.
The course begins at 10am and will finish at 12pm.
Ms Louw said this exercise actually began during a time of war and that this exercise is the body’s natural way of handling trauma.
“You can train your body to exhaust certain muscles and the body will then get rid of emotional and physical trauma,” said Ms Louw.
“It is primarily a way of deep relaxation.
“It is a way to develop an awareness of what is going on in your body.”
Ms Louw believes many people in Secunda suffer from post traumatic stress syndrome and with this course she wants to help them to relax and be calm and to understand and control their emotions.
