A man’s body was retrieved from the Vaal River near the golf course on Thursday morning, 5 December.
He apparently waded into the river while fishing with a friend, but did not emerge again from the water. The friend rushed to the police station to report the drowning.
The Mpumalanga Police’s Inland Water Wing and Delta 1 Rescue Diving were dispatched to the scene to recover the body.
