Covid-19: Validity of expiring licences to be extended
The minister of transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula, announced that all learner’s licences, driver’s licences, vehicle licence disks, temporary permits, professional driving permits and road worthy certificates shall be deemed valid for another 30 days from the date of expiration.
HIGHVELD – Residents whose driver’s licences or vehicle licences have or will expire during the lockdown period, do not have to stress.
The minister of transport, Mr Fikile Mbalula, announced that all learner’s licences, driver’s licences, vehicle licence disks, temporary permits, professional driving permits and road worthy certificates shall be deemed valid for another 30 days from the date of expiration.
The validity for the renewal of a motor trade number licence during the lockdown shall also be deemed valid and shall be extended for a further grace period of six months from the date of expiry during the lockdown period.
During the lockdown period, vehicle testing centres shall remain closed.
