The Minister of Health Dr Zwelini Mkhize and the MEC for Health in Mpumalanga, Ms Sasekani Manzini, visited Ermelo Provincial Hospital on 16 April to officially hand over the mobile testing lab.

Ms Manzini briefed Dr Mkhize about the provincial strategic plans to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Mpumalanga.

They joined the community health care workers during a door-to-door screening programme in Ward 3 in Wesselton.

Dr Mkhize urged residents to adhere to the call from President Cyril Ramaphosa to stay at home and wash their hands.

He said: “We want to encourage communities to wear masks, as cloth masks are very effective.”

He thanked the health workers for the work that they have done, as they are on the frontline of the fight against Covid-19.
