Capt Charlie is welcomed as the new Station Commander for Trichardt

Capt Charlie is ready to serve the community of Trichardt

TRICHARDT – As a child, Capt Charlie Mngomezulu, the new station commander of Trichardt Police Station, had a fear of police officers.

This was until he received a call from God to become a cop.

He then joined the Hammanskraal Police Academy in Pretoria. After graduating from the academy in 1992, he was stationed at Bethal.

His service at the station had seen him move up in rankings and various departments.

In 2016 he was transferred to eMzinoni Police Station and assisted as a visible policing commander.

He was promoted to captain in 2018 and continued his service at Secunda Police Station as a relief commander.

He later returned to eMzinoni and was appointed as acting station commander.

After 27 years of service, dedication and hard work, Capt Mngomezulu has found his permanent ground as station commander of Trichardt Police.

“The community of Trichardt has welcomed me. Together with the CPF and the community we assist each other when patrolling our streets. With their help, there has been a huge decrease in burglaries. I am very happy and thank them for all that they are doing to help the police,” said Capt Mngomezulu.

He has an open door policy and welcomes the community if they have any issues, complaints or information they wish to share regarding cases.

Capt Mngomezulu describes himself as a disciplined person.

He claims to have learned a lot about people and their different cultures in his years of service as a police officer.

Capt Mngomezulu is a husband and father of four children, and enjoyed playing soccer.

Due to a motor vehicle accident, he is unable to play but has since taken up the sport of fishing, which he enjoys in his spare time.

After some reshuffling and adjustment from not only himself but his peers, Capt Mngomezulu has huge goals for the station and believes with the continued dedication and hard work of his police officers, these goals can be achieved.

“I want to see Trichardt Police Station ranked as number one in the region. This can be made possible with all of us working together,” ended Capt Mngomezulu.
