Delta 1 recovers body of young drowning victim

According to Mr Andries Lee, the 18-year-old’s body was recovered at a depth of 4m.

LEANDRA – The body of a young man was recovered from a quarry dam on the outskirts of Leandra today, 24 April.
The team of Delta 1 Rescue Diving, the police’s K9 unit and the Mpumalanga Inland Water Policing, assisted by ER24 and MavCorp, attended the drowning scene near Inge Street, Ext 5 this afternoon.
According to Mr Andries Lee, the 18-year-old’s body was recovered at a depth of 4m.
The deceased and his friends were swimming in the quarry dam when he disappeared under the water.
