Blood service is happy with donations on Mandela Day

Support blood service by donating blood

SECUNDA – The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) branches in the region held several blood drives over the weekend to celebrate Mandela Day.

Ms Dot Prinsloo, donor relations practitioner of SANBS, said they collected 167 units of blood from all the blood drives over the weekend.

“That means 500 patients’ lives can be saved, we are very thankful,” said Ms Prinsloo.

It was a new record for them at eMba Mall where they collected 42 units and at the Secunda branch they also did good with 68 units of blood over two days.

Ms Prinsloo thanked the community who supported them and also the management teams of eMba Mall and Secunda Mall who always go the extra mile to accommodate the blood service.

To donate blood, visit the SANBS branches at Sasol, Secunda or Bethal.
