People pray together at Mediclinic Highveld

Woman says God moved her to organise prayer evening

TRICHARDT – People prayed and worshiped together at Mediclinic Highveld on Friday evening, 14 August.

Worship music was played outside Mediclinic and people gathered near the gate of the hospital where they prayed while others remained in their vehicles and took part from a distance.

Ms Nadine Hugo organised the prayer evening and she said the Lord placed it upon her heart to do it.

“I have seen how families suffer when their loved ones are in hospital during this difficult time and I just felt urged to pray for these families and patients, as well as the hospital staff who work very hard,” said Ms Hugo.

“We wanted to show all these people that we support them and are thinking of them.”

Ms Hugo works for a company that supplies oxygen.

She said she did not want it to be about her, but about God.

“I want it to be about the community that supports care workers and emergency personnel who are putting their lives on the line daily.

“I want God to get all the glory for this initiative and I wanted people to come together and to see the power of prayer in our community.

“I believe that when we pray, it touches God’s heart and the hope is, that as we lift up our health workers and patients in prayer, that it will touch God’s heart and change things.

“I believe this happened for a reason and that it is God’s way of telling people to slow down.”
