Secunda’s social seniors spring into fitness

Dra Mekaar members welcomed spring with a fun chair Pilates session during their monthly meeting on September 2.

With spring in the air, members of Dra Mekaar welcomed the new season with a fun chair Pilates session at their monthly meeting on September 2.

The meeting, held at the NG Kerk Goedehoop Gemeente, opened with scripture and prayer by Ben Moolman before members took part in the exercise session hosted by Nadia Prinsloo.

Members were introduced to simple workout movements they can do at home using a chair, encouraging them to stay active and healthy.

Birthday wishes were extended to the September birthday celebrants: Netta van Heerden, Susan Alberts, Charlie Pretorius, Cathy Engelbrecht, Gary Visser, Sophia Myburgh, and Carlien Moolman.

New members Flip van der Merwe and Janet Jacobs were also warmly welcomed.

The next meeting will take place on September 16 and will feature an informative talk about the Terra Nova frail-care facilities.

Dra Mekaar provides a platform for retired and senior people to meet, socialise and build friendships through twice-monthly gatherings, activities and community projects.
