GRAPHIC CONTENT: Dog in Ermelo euthanised after his paws were tied with cable ties

The SPCA has voiced their utter dismay about this incident and urged anyone who has more information to contact them.

Dogs are referred to as man’s best friend, but unfortunately the phrase is not always interchangeable, especially in this particular case. The Bethal SPCA was informed of a dog in Ermelo whose paws were tied-off with cable ties. This cut-off the blood circulation to his extremities and consequently rendered his hind legs paralysed. The dog was then taken to a local vet who examined him. A decision had to be taken and unfortunately due to his injuries, he had to be euthanised thereby also putting him out of his pain and suffering. The SPCA has voiced their utter dismay about this incident and urged anyone who has more information to contact them.

“If we can gather enough evidence, a case can be brought against the person/people responsible.” “We would like to thank the people of HOPE Animal Rescue who reported the matter as well as Mr Rhyno du Preez who assisted.”
