Ermelo Police arrested a suspect in connection with rape, assault and kidnapping on 8 September in Ermelo.
According to Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman of Ermelo Police, a 32-year-old woman laid the charges against her boyfriend.
She alleged that they had an argument on 29 August.
“Her boyfriend then forced her to his home in Nyibe where he assaulted her with a sjambok and kept her for seven days.
“He raped her several times during the seven days. ”
Capt Prinsloo added, the victim managed to contact her family after which her brother came to collect her.
Medical personnel advised her to report the incident to Ermelo Police.
The 51-year-old suspect will appear in Ermelo Magistrate Court soon.
