Three men appear in Carolina Magistrate’s Court for kidnapping, assault and murder

Three men from Carolina appeared in the Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 7 September in connection with kidnapping, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and murder. 

The trio was arrested on 4 September.

According to Brig Leonard Hlathi, provincial police spokesman, the suspects, aged between 30 and 32 years, forced two men into their vehicle on 14 August.

“It is alleged that the suspects took the men to a storeroom where they assaulted the men with an iron pipe as a form of punishment for allegedly insulting their colleague.”

The incident was reported to the police and the men were taken to the hospital as they sustained serious injuries.

One of the victims later succumbed to his injuries.
