ACSU warns residents of crimes in Ermelo

“Suspects were scared off by the alarm.”

ACSU security company warns residents of crimes that took place in Ermelo since the beginning of September.

Mr Theo Craven, employee of ACSU, said two incidents took place on 1 September.

The first incident was an alarm that was activated in Thusi Village, ACSU’s reaction team found that a tower on the premises was vandalized and all copper wire was taken from a power box belonging to the tower, was retrieved.

Mr Craven, added, “The power box was brought to ACSU office for safe keeping. The owner of the tower is sending their repair team to attend to damage of the tower and to collect the power box. 

“The second incident was a delivery driver that was threatened by three males, one of which was armed. “

The three males told the victim they wanted to rob him.

The driver managed to get to the safety of an ACSU client who in turn pressed the panic button.”

ACSU security escorted the driver to all his further deliveries and then safely to Bethal.

A client of ACSU found a window had been broken however, suspects were scared off by the alarm on 2 September.

An attempted burglary lead to damaged burglar bars but nothing was stolen at a house in Autumn Ridge on 3 September.

“Suspects were scared off by the alarm.”

According to Mr Craven, on the following day another attempted burglary in Lelie Avenue occured where the gate was manually opened, window pane removed, burglar bars damaged and television damaged however, nothing was stolen.
